This is my first post. I’ve had blogs before, but I’ve never heard of using one with an online class. I think it’s a pretty great idea. I tried to do a blog site with my 6th graders when I taught science, and that kind of flopped (to sum it up in one word – drama. they all started fighting on there). Maybe I was a little premature on the idea… ha-ha.
Now I am teaching a writing class. Not my first choice, but I actually like it now that I have settled in. It’s a lot more grading, but it’s a lot less pressure and responsibility. I’m teaching an exploratory class. The students only have me for a 9 weeks grading period, then I send them on their way. That’s pretty nice when you look at a student who is getting on your nerves and think, “well, only 3 more weeks.”
I am starting my masters degree this semester, and it feels a little strange to go back to school. I am taking two online classes this semester, and I’m a little overwhelmed. I’m new to the online thing, so this has all been a grand adventure for me. By grand, of course, I mean stressful and confusing.
I am sure I’ll get the hang of it, though. I’m too stubborn not to.
